Bardiya Eye Hospital

With the approval of Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh, Central Office, Kathmandu, the former Sanoshree Eye Care Center will be upgraded to Bardiya Eye Hospital in July, 2022.The Eye Hospital is easily accessible and situated in SanoShree, Madhuwan Municipality-6, Bardiya district, Lumbini Province, 12 kilometers from the district headquarters and 5 kilometers from the Indo-Nepal border.Rastriya Awas Companey Ltd. of Taratal owned the hospital land, which measures 0-6-10 (2190) square meters.

Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh manages and runs the hospital. The hospital is self-sustaining, relying on patient service fees, a small sum from the municipality, and donations.

The hospital treats patients from the western parts of Banke, Bardiya, and Kailali. It also welcomes patients from Uttar Pradesh, India.

There are two ECCs operating in Palikas, namely Geruwa and Badaiyatal, which are partially supported by Palikas. The Hospital and ECC now have a total of nine technical and five administrative employees.

The hospital is open six days a week, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to provide service.
